This newly designed Floral Urn is filled with delicate touches of embroidery, silk ribbon embroidery, ribbon work and beading. Several of the floral and leaf techniques are new additions to Jan’s classes, which you will learn during this class. Class one will will focus on making the vase. Classes 2-6 the focus will be on filling the vase with flowers, leaves and ferns.

 Jan hit the refresh button on one of her original designs from her book, The Art of Elegant Hand Embroidery, Embellishment and Applique, to create this Floral urn block. Her inspiration came from a painting in the manner of Jan van huysum, a Dutch artist c. 1682-1749, who was know by his contemporaries as “the phoenix of all flower painters.”
